Overview
You can create PDFs on an iPhone without installing a complicated app. iPhone includes useful built-in options for saving documents, web pages, emails, notes, and photos as PDF files.
Why this matters
Creating a clean PDF from your iPhone is useful for application forms, assignments, identity documents, bills, receipts, resumes, and sending multiple photos as one organised file.
Create a PDF from photos
If you have multiple images, first make sure they are clear, correctly ordered, and cropped. Avoid shadows and blurry photographs when creating a document PDF.
You can select photos and use the iPhone Share menu or a trusted PDF conversion tool to combine them into one PDF. This is useful for scanned pages, handwritten notes, bills, and photo-based assignments.
Save a web page or email as PDF
Safari and many iPhone apps offer a Share or Print option. In the Print preview, you can often expand the preview and then share or save the content as a PDF.
Before saving, check that the page is fully loaded and that private account information is not accidentally included in the PDF.
Use the Notes app to scan documents
The Notes app can scan paper documents using the iPhone camera. Place the page on a flat surface with good light, keep the camera steady, and review the scan before saving.
For multi-page documents, scan every page in the correct order and verify that no corners, signatures, or small text are cut off.
Check the final PDF before sending
Open the finished PDF in Files and check page order, readability, orientation, and file size. A document can look fine as separate photos but become difficult to read after conversion if images are low quality.
Use a clear file name before sharing, such as College-Application-Documents.pdf or Receipt-August-2026.pdf.
