1. High-resolution photos: Camera photos often contain far more detail than is needed for a normal PDF. A few full-resolution mobile photos can make a document many megabytes in size.

2. High-quality scanned pages: A scanner may save every page at a high resolution, especially when colour scanning is selected. This produces clearer images but also creates much larger PDF files.

3. Colour images instead of grayscale: Colour scans store more visual information than black-and-white or grayscale scans. For text-only documents, colour is often unnecessary.
