1. Browser processing
Many PDFClan tools are designed to process files directly in your browser where practical. This means the work can happen on your device without the completed file becoming part of a permanent PDFClan file archive.
2. Secure server processing
Some advanced tasks may require secure server-side processing. This can include certain PDF conversions, compression, OCR, password operations, and similar tasks that require specialised software.
3. Connection security
PDFClan uses HTTPS to protect data in transit between your browser and the website. However, no internet transmission or technical system can be guaranteed to be completely risk-free.
4. File retention
PDFClan is not a cloud-storage service and does not provide a permanent downloadable archive of processed files. Temporary working files may be created when a server-based tool is used, only to perform the requested task. Keep your own backup copies of important files.
5. What you should avoid uploading
Please avoid uploading highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable using an online PDF service. Examples include unmasked bank credentials, medical records, government identifiers, passwords, private keys, or confidential documents where strict internal controls are required.
6. Report a security concern
If you believe you found a security issue, email support@pdfclan.com with a clear description. Please do not publicly disclose sensitive details before giving us a reasonable opportunity to investigate.
